Since day one, back in October 1986, our mission has been to serve travelers looking for the right hotel. We started in our home town of San Francisco by creating San Francisco Reservations, a city-based central reservations service for about 250 hotels. We were driven by our desire to make finding the perfect accommodations “Effortless, Efficient and Effective.”

In the early 2000s, having added a “private label” reservation service division as well as interactive web-based bookable reservations processing, we’d grown into a thriving boutique hotel services business with 50+ employees. Now it was time to define our culture with a fresh, inspiring idea. So, we updated our moniker to, “Genuine People Providing Genuine Hospitality.”
Since then, this idea has been the animating principle behind everything we do, from recruiting reservations sales associates who naturally “connect” with others, to assembling technology and supervisory teams willing to show up each day with great ideas, big hearts and open minds.

Even our latest technology product, C5—which seamlessly connects Topaz with our client properties—was built to support “Genuine People Providing Genuine Hospitality.” With its information-rich environment, sleek design and functionality, it makes the reservations sales associates’ job nearly “effortless.” And it’s certainly “efficient and effective,” enabling us to deliver ‘high touch’ interactions with guests and high conversion rates to our hotel clients.
Now in our fourth decade delivering on our original promise, we believe more than ever that people want to love their jobs, and that when they feel supported, they show up with the best of themselves. That basic idea inspires a culture of caring at Topaz that serves our staff members, guests and our hotel clients.
